Charateristics

Stable. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.

l-Lysine: Needles from water, hexagonal plates from 

dil alc. Darkens at 210C; decomp 224.5C. Very freely 

sol in water; very sligtly sol in alc; practically insol in ether.

human development. Lysine residues are useful in 

many cellular processes, due to their ability to accept 

a wide variety of post-translational modifications.
